Parent Support Services
I no longer offer In-Home Support Services and it’s important you know why…
Back before I started creating Calm Resources (Calming Cards, Calm Stickers, Calm Colouring-In Sheets and the Ultimate Calm Bundle) I used to provide an in-home behaviour consulting service to families.
I would visit families in their own homes and help them implement techniques using a respectful parenting approach.
During this process, I noticed that in almost every situation I walked into, no matter what behaviour the parents had asked for support with, that their childrens behaviour would improve with the implementation of two very simple things:
1. Building emotional literacy
2. Learning techniques for self-regulation
I knew that most parents would be capable of implementing these two things in their own homes, if they had the resources to do so.
Which is why I created my very first product (and best-seller!) Calming Cards. The purpose of this product was to help parents introduce their kids to techniques for emotional regulation.
As time went on, I created variations on this first product based on customer feedback (and sometimes I became inspired by the way my own son would interact with and use the products himself), to increase accessibility of these resources to parents and educators around the world, which led me to create:
So that parents and educators just like you could easily teach their children techniques for self regulatioon in their own homes and classrooms.
Since creating these resources, I have been happy to see a growing body of literature supporting what I observed during my in-home consults.
Research has found that when our kids learn self regulation skills in early childhood they are more likely to have improved behaviour, better social skills, a higher level of engagement in school, better academic outcomes and improved mental health and wellness throughout their life.
Isn’t that amazing? To think we can spend 1 or 2 minutes a day practicing self regulation skills with our kids and have this important impact on their development and future life.
Given these findings, I decided that rather than continuing to provide in-home behaviour visits around Perth (Western Australia), as well as the occasional phone consult to other cities, that I could reach and support a lot more parents, and have a much larger impact if I shared the knowledge and techniques that I already knew would work in most situations, through a short email-based course with accompanying self regulation resources.
As an added bonus, I was also able to offer this knowledge and these techniques at a much lower price point, making what used to be an expensive in-home visit, a much more affordable and accessible resource for parents.

Who Created this Course?
Dominique Groenveld created this course and the accompanying resources (that’s me!). I worked with many families to identify their individual behaviour challenges and the outcomes they wanted to achieve to put in place plans with simple and effective techniques to make sure they accomplished the results they were looking for. I know that time and time again, developing emotional literacy and self regulation skills was the number 1 starting point that improved their child/rens behaviour (prior to implementing any other techniques).
This course is based on my work with many children in many different environments and family dynamics. I have a wealth of knowledge about learning and behaviour management (I studied at University and achieved a Bachelor degree in Psychology, a Post Graduate Degree in Psychology and a Graduate Diploma in Education – Majoring in School Psychology and Minoring in Health Teaching – and I was even lucky enough to have my thesis published in an International Journal!) but all fancy paperwork aside, I am experienced in working with children and families and my goal is to make sure you achieve the best possible outcomes for you and your family.
Most importantly, I’m Mum to a very energetic 6 year old who has certainly put my knowledge and skills to the test 😉

"Thank you so much to Dominique for everything she has helped us with, with our daughter. Before she arrived I was anxious, fed up and at a loss of what to do with our 4 year olds behaviour as I felt like I’d tried every approach… Dominique gave us so much support and behaviour strategies that our daughters behaviour has improved so much. I feel like I understand my daughter now and I feel like a much more confident parent. Thank u so much, words can’t express what you have given our family xo”
