We Hope Our Family’s Groen
We Hope Our Family’s Groen
Hi, we’re Sam and Dominique Groenveld. We recently got married and now the pressure is on to start producing some little tackers (kids)…
This is something we have thought long and hard about and spent a fair bit of time researching. We think we’re pretty well equipped to manage the inevitable issues that will come along with parenthood, like; tantrums, refusing to eat, throwing food on the floor, refusing to go to bed, failing to pack away toys, back-chatting… and the list goes on. So far we have practiced on our two cats, and they are well behaved at least 20% of the time, so we reckon we’re doing OK.
Anyway, keeping to the point, we have spent so much time researching child behaviour, we feel we have pretty much prepared ourselves for anything that could be thrown our way (in theory at least), which is where the fun part comes in.
We are about to embark on a massive journey towards parenthood and we’d like to invite you to join us. We have some definite ideas on how we would like to raise our children (largely based on Dominique’s academic knowledge in the field of psychology) but we’re also very aware that research and reality don’t always gel together!
We’ll share what we think we will do based on the available research, and then compare it to our experiences of what we actually do, and we invite you to share your experiences with us too.
You may notice that Dominique does most of the writing here, but Sam comes along before we post our blog and puts his two bobs worth in (wanted or unwanted!)
Over the coming months we will give you some little teasers of what’s to come on our website (lots of strategies for common behaviour issues experienced by parents) and we look forward to hearing your thoughts, ideas and what has, or hasn’t, worked for you (let us know in the comments at the bottom of our blog posts or via social media using the share buttons below each post)
In the meantime check us out on facebook, Instagram and twitter!
